Garden Design

A small part of our delivery of semi-mature trees being planted in the gardens of a spectacular new country house. The trees were grown to contract by Barcham Trees who trained the units of pleached hornbeam trees to our specific size requirements.

Our sketch design for a Italianate garden inspired by the works of Harold Peto has been enthusiastically received. The intricate garden with many architectural features, will sit on a mid-level terrace between the house and swimming pool with new pool house.

The first phase of planting at our garden in Malvern has established well and the late-summer flowers are blooming; Purple coneflower, Russian sage and Calamint make waves of colour on the bank above the fire pit.

Our masterplan for gardens to the south and east fronts of the hall were well received when presented to the owners today. The symmetry of the cruciform formal east garden contrasts with the sinuous lines of the south garden with large topiary and curved clipped hedging set beneath the layered limbs of the massive mature cedar trees.

Our contractor Just Limegrass, has started to make the sunken garden for Colgrims House with views over the Solent to the Isle of Wight. The garden is overlooked by the main rooms of the house and will have Cornish slate walls and paving. Planting will need to withstand the constant salt-wind exposure, however shelter will come from the low walls and boulders used to form the structure of the garden.
