Landscape Design

Planning permission has been secured for building an impressive principal new wing for a Listed country house in Hampshire. Ibbotson Studios provided the estate master plan, garden designs, landscape and visual impact assessment, and a tree protection strategy in support of the application.

The Studios are appointed to design the seaside garden for The Crows Nest on Ware Cliffs overlooking the sea just outside Lyme Regis. As part of the creative process, Mike sketched views of the cliffs, beach and nearby Cobb.

Designs for an exceptional country house have been submitted to the South Downs National Park authority for approval. This contemporary design solution responds to the surrounding landscape and will be an integral part of the woodland garden setting.

The Studios prepared the architectural perspectives and landscape design strategy accompanying an application for a replacement dwelling and re-use of redundant farm buildings on a 12 hectare site in Somerset. We look forward to hearing the outcome of the submission.

Mike wrote the section on practical and contractual matters related to undertaking works within historic environments in this essential guide. This book is for everyone with an interest in the conservation of gardens and landscapes. Covering history and theory, survey and assessment, management and legislation, it considers all aspects of conservation issues.

We are thrilled to be appointed to provide concept designs for a new contemporary house that will be located within a delightful and secluded woodland garden setting. A brief includes creating internal views in the landscape, making the garden viable for the long-term with minimal upkeep, and developing the areas of the garden that currently underperform.

The Studios have been appointed for the extensive refurbishment and redesign of a rural estate in Hampshire. Proposals include a new drive to the house through parkland, and the reinstatement of derelict walled, formal and woodland gardens. This is all to be set within a strategic master plan covering the equestrian facilities, pasture, arable land and woodland.
